Yahoo Imap Not Working in Mac Mail

If your Yahoo imap not working with Mac mail or the IMAP server fails to respond, follow the below-mentioned steps to resolve the issue.

  • Check if you can log in to your Yahoo mail account using your default web browser and then compose an email.
  • Send the composed mail to the same email address and check if you receive the mail within 5 minutes.
  • On the Mac Mail, verify the server settings for Yahoo mail and change the settings in the required fields to fix the Yahoo imap not working(Spam folder, Blocked address, Email filters, Reply-to-address).
  • Delete your Yahoo account from the Mac Mail with a backup and reconfigure it with the correct server settings. For the incoming mail server, use “” and port number as 993 with SSL encryption.
  • Also, disable the firewall or restrictions from the antivirus software.
  • It is advised to perform a system update because the obsolete version creates more issues compared to an updated program.
  • On your Yahoo mail account, check whether the Auto-Forwarding feature is enabled or active by navigating to the Settings tab.
