Step 1 - Gmail account settings
Navigate to the default web browser on your computer and then access your Gmail account using its email address and password.
Find the gear (Settings) icon at the upper-right corner of the screen and click it.
Now, select the Settings option from the Settings menu.

When you see the Choose Service dialog box on the screen, select the Internet Email option followed by the Next option.
This will launch the Internet Email Settings dialog box.
Go to the User Information section and give the correct information in the Your Name and Email Address fields.
Email address format - your full name@gmail.com
Server Information:
Select either the POP3 or IMAP from the Account Type drop-down menu.
If you have chosen the POP3 protocol, you have to type pop.gmail.com in the Incoming Mail Server field.
If you select the IMAP protocol, the Incoming Mail Server field should be imap.gmail.com.
Enter smtp.gmail.com in the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) field to sync gmail with Outlook 2010.
Once you fill the hostname for the incoming and outgoing mail server, navigate to the Logon Information section.
The User Name and Password fields have to be filled with valid information.
For advanced server settings, select the More Settings option.
Specify the encryption type as either SSL or TLS.
Server Port Numbers:
Type either 993 (IMAP) or 995 (POP3) in the Incoming Server field.
Type 25, 465, or 587 in the Outgoing Server (SMTP) field.
25 is the ideal port number for the outgoing mail server without encryption.
After finishing the incoming and outgoing server settings, select the OK option.
Select the checkbox next to the ‘Test Account Settings by clicking the Next button’ option and click the Next button.
You will get the Congratulations message in the Test Account Settings window only if the Gmail account configuration on the Outlook 2010 application is successful.
Click the Close button to exit the manual configuration wizard once you complete the sync gmail with Outlook 2010.
