How To Set Up Email On Iphone?

Email account configuration on your iPhone can be done automatically or manually. The simple instructions to set up email on the iPhone using both the automatic and manual methods are mentioned on this web page.

Setting up your email account on the iPhone automatically:

  • For automatic email configuration, the email address and password of your email account are more than enough.
  • On the iPhone, tap the Settings icon and touch the Passwords & Accounts option.
  • After tapping the Add Account option, you will see the following email providers list.
    • iCloud
    • Google
    • AOL
    • Yahoo
    • Microsoft Exchange
    • Other
  • Make sure to specify the correct email provider.
  • Type your email address and password in the appropriate fields and then touch the Next option.
  • Wait until the Mail application checks for your email account.
  • Choose the items that you need to sync by enabling the toggle switch. Tap the Save option.
  • Now, the email account is added to the iPhone automatically.
  • Note: If your email provider is not displayed in the list, you have to configure the email account manually.
Set Up Email On iPhone

Setting up an email account on the iPhone manually:

  • Scroll down the page and choose the Accounts & Passwords option for set up email on iPhone.
  • Navigate to the Accounts section and touch the Add Account option.
  • Select the Other option, tap the Add Mail Account, and fill the following fields.
    • Name
    • Email
    • Password
    • Description
  • To configure the incoming mail server settings, choose either the IMAP or POP3 protocol.
  • Tap either the IMAP or POP tab if you want to set the email account’s incoming mail server.
  • When the New Account screen opens, provide the correct information in the Name, Email, and Description fields.
  • Incoming Mail Server:
  • Fill the Host Name, Username, and Password fields.
  • Outgoing Mail Server:
  • Provide valid details in the Host Name, Username, and Password fields.
  • Once done with both the incoming and outgoing mail servers settings, tap the Next option.
  • Set sync preferences and tap the Save option.
  • Navigate back to the Accounts & Passwords screen, select your email account, and tap the Account option.
  • Launch the Advanced screen by tapping the Advanced option on the Account screen.
  • Ensure that the Use SSL feature is enabled. Change the port if it is not correct in the Server Port field.
  • Note: The default authenticated port for the incoming mail server is 993 (IMAP) or 995 (POP).
  • Close this email configuration screen. Now, you can access and set up email on iPhone
