How To Fix Outlook Printing Issues?

The Outlook application lets you send, modify, and receive emails from the configured email accounts. In Outlook, there is a feature that allows you to print the emails you receive. But recently, some users have encountered a problem with it. The problem is, the Printing option is not responding. If you also face the Outlook printing issues, then you have visited the right web page to resolve it.

Some errors related to the Outlook application’s printing issues are listed below:

  • Printer is unavailable
  • Printer is not ready
  • Print Picture error
  • Problem with the selected printer
Outlook printing issues

Initially, check if your printer is connected to the computer securely. If not, connect them securely. Now, try the troubleshooting steps given below.

For Outlook 2007 users:

  • Open the message window.
  • Click Other Actions > Edit Message and go to the Options tab.
  • Select the Change to HTML option.
  • Now, return to the Message tab.
  • Select the Other Actions option followed by View in Browser.
  • Now, try to print the message and check the Outlook printing issues.

For Windows 2013 users:

Solution 1: Run Outlook 2013 in safe mode

  • Open the Run option.
  • Type the Outlook/safe command and tap Enter.
  • Wait for the on-going process to complete.
  • Once it is done, open the Outlook 2013 application.
  • Click the File menu followed by Options.
  • Select the Add-ins option.
  • Click COM Add-ins followed by the Go button.
  • Uncheck the add-ins listed on the screen.
  • Restart Outlook and then try to print.

Rebuild the Outlprnt file

If the Outlprnt file is missing or corrupted, then there is a chance for you to encounter this issue. The only way to fix this issue is to rebuild it. To do so, follow the instructions given below.

  • Click the Start menu.
  • Select the Files or Folders option.
  • Search the Outlprnt file in the Files or Folders window.
  • Once you find it, select and right-click on it. Then, select the Rename option.
  • Type a new name and restart the Outlook application.
  • Try to print a message.

For Outlook 2016 users:

Restart the service

  • Click Start and type services in the search field.
  • Now, the services will be listed on the screen.
  • Search and select the Print Spooler service. 
  • Double-click on the Print Spooler service.
  • Select the Stop option.
  • Go to the following folder and remove all the files in it. %WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers.
  • Now, restart the Print Spooler service.
  • Try to print a message and the Outlook printing issues are fixed.
