Configure The Google Pop3 Settings  

Gmail is one of the world’s best web-based email clients that are present today. It is effective for personal use and also for running a small business. It can make your work more efficient and easy. If you want to have a Gmail account set up with another account, you are on the right track here. With the help of the incoming and outgoing server settings and also configure your google POP3 settings, you can add your Google Account to other email providers like Yahoo or Outlook, for example.

We will now be describing you the steps to configure the Gmail server and download all your messages from the Gmail server.

Before you configure with the google POP3 settings on Gmail, you will first have to enable the POP option to have access to your account.

  • Turn on your Windows computer.
  • Log in to your Gmail account.
  • On the right side, click the Menu option and click the Settings option from the list.
  • On the top pane, you will see a list of tabs, locate and click the tab with the name Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  • Scroll down to the POP section and click the radio button that says Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
  • From the drop-down list, select the option Keep Gmail’s copy in the inbox. This option comes in handy if you delete the mail in the client, and it will still be stored in Gmail’s Inbox.

Now, for example, let us see the steps to configure the POP3 settings on Outlook.

  • Open Microsoft Outlook.
  • Select the File tab and then proceed in selecting the Info. Option.
  • Click the Account Settings option and select Account Settings.
  • The Account Settings window will now open.
  • Click the New button and select the Manual Setup radio button.
  • Click the POP or IMAP radio button and click the Next button.
  • Now, to the important part of the topic, you have to enter the google POP3 settings in the following fields.
  • Gmail POP Server address:
  • Gmail POP Username: the Gmail email ID
  • Gmail POP Password: the Gmail account password
  • Gmail Port Number: 995
  • Gmail POP SSL required: YES
  • Click Next.
  • The Account Test configuration will now take place.
  • Once the test configuration is complete, you will see a green tick for the two tasks, as shown in the video.
  • Click the Close button.
  • Now, you are successfully complete the google POP3 settings.
