Em Client Constantly Synchronizing Imap

Follow the guidelines given below to synchronize IMAP on eM Client. 

  • Open the eM client application on your computer.
  • Go to the Menu icon on the top-left corner of the screen.
  • Click the Tools menu and select the Accounts option from the displayed list.
  • Select your email address and then enter your name and password of your account.

Setting IMAP to synchronize emails:

  • In the Accounts window, select the IMAP tab.
  • To activate the incoming mail server, enter the host address to which you are setting IMAP. 
  • Type the appropriate port number in the port section.
  • Select SSL/ TLS connection in the Security policy for an encrypted connection. The port number for the secured connection is 993.
  • For no encrypted connection, enter the port number as 143.

SMTP Settings for the outgoing mail server:

  • Navigate to the SMTP tab in the Accounts window.
  • Enter the hostname in the host section. 
  • If you are adding a Gmail account to your eM client, type as the hostname.
  • Choose TLS or SSL connection in the Security Policy section.
  • Enter the port number as 587 for TLS connection and enter 465 for SSL connection. 
  • For unsecured no encrypted connection, enter port number as 25 and select the no security option.
  • Checkmark the Server requires Authentication option under the Authentication window. Then, click on the OK button.
  • All your emails will be synced to your eM client.

Enabling All Mail folder and IMAP settings in your Gmail account:

If you are adding your Gmail account to eM Client, proceed with the steps given below before adding your account to the eM Client. All Mail folder stores all your messages.

  • Check whether you have turned on the IMAP access for the “All Mail folder” in your Gmail account.
  • Open your Gmail account from your web browser.
  • Log in to your Gmail account using the login credentials.
  • Click the Settings icon and select the Labels tab.
  • Locate and checkmark the Show in IMAP option.
  • Now, go to Settings and select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  • Enable IMAP under the IMAP access section.
  • Click on the Save Changes button and open your eM Client to add your email account.
